United States dollar Definition
(from Wikipedia)The 'United States dollar' (sign: '[[Dollar sign|$]]'; code: 'USD'; also
abbreviated 'US$'), also referred to as the 'American dollar', is the official
currency of the United States of America and its overseas territories. It is
divided into 100 smaller units called cents.
The U.S. dollar is the currency most used in international transactions and is
one of the world's dominant reserve currencies. Several countries use
it as their official currency and, in many others, it is the ''de facto''
currency.Benjamin J. Cohen, The Future of Money, Princeton University
Press, 2006, ISBN 0-691-11666-0; cf. "the dollar is the de facto currency in
Cambodia", Charles Agar, [[Frommer's]] Vietnam, 2006, ISBN 0-471-79816-9, p.
17 It is also used as the sole currency in some British Overseas
Territories (British Virgin Islands and Turks and Caicos).

Open Question: Have you tried Baskin-Robins new ice cream flavor?
In honor of the 44th President of the United States , Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream has introduced a new flavor: Barocky Road . Barocky Road is a blend of half vanilla, half chocolate, and surrounded by nuts and flakes. The vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised and usually denied as an ingredient. The nuts and flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow. The cost is $92.84 per scoop...so out of a hundred dollar bill you are at least promised some CHANGE..! When purchased it will be presented to you in a large beautiful cone, but after you pay for it, the ice cream is taken away and given to the person in line behind you at no charge. You are left with an almost empty wallet, staring at an empty cone and wondering what the hell just happened. Then you realize this is what "redistribution of wealth" is all about. Stimulating, isn't it?
Open Question: how come china is not "industrialized", when the chinese industry output is 400% of the US level (in ppp terms?
since nan bread brings out the big gun: per capita figures. Let's do per capita figures. Don't forget the chinese currency is greatly undervalued, so only the PPP terms measures the correct value. That said, the chinese industry output in dollar exchange rate terms is larger than that in united states. In ppp (purchasing power parity) level, it's actually 400% of the US level, whereas it's population is only 3.5 times larger than the US... go figure, nan bread head.

Open Question: Why is my total checkout price on Amazon.co.uk wrong?
I live in the United States, and I was going to buy a CD off of the uk amazon website, i know the cd is shipped from the UK and it says that shippping to the united states is $3.08. No Im not confusing euros with us dollars because they said standard shipping was 1.26 euros and since I dont live in the uk, but in the us, shipping is $3.08. And the actual cost of the CD was 8.15 euros, and i went on the currency converter and 8.15 euros is euqal to $10.42 us dollars. So I thought the total price would be, or be around $13.50 us dollars. but when I check out it says the total is 18.46?? I have no idea whats up. But this is exactly what is says: Items: GBP 8.15 Postage & Packing: GBP 3.08 _______________________ Order Total: GBP 11.23 Payment Total: USD 18.46 Can someone please explain this to me? thanks soo much!! :D
