Open Question: Which of these two universitys should i attend?
Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to answer this. I've narrowed down my college choices (i think) to Ohio State University and the University of Missouri-Columbia. I'm wanting to go to the school with the strongest academics, and that also has a strong Biology and Anthropology department. I live in Missouri, However, in-state tuition is not an issue. Due to my academics, i would be able to get a significant amount of Financial aid for Ohio should i decide to go there. The same goes for Mizzou. So, when you answer, please don't say "mizzou because it's closer to family" or "Mizzou because of In-state tuition". All i want to know is which school you would recommend going to disregarding where i live. Any advice helps, thanks!
Open Question: Michigan State University and Ohio State University difficulty?
I'm currently ending my sophomore year in high school. School is kind of really important to me and I really want to get into Michigan State University or Ohio State University. I was just wondering what the difficulty level is on getting into them? I'm taking two years of Spanish, since I know a lot of colleges require two years of foreign language. Also, I took an advanced honors math class this year. I'm actually in a junior math class as it is. If I keep my grades as they are, by the end of the year my GPA will be a 3.7. If I maintain a 3.6-3.8 GPA for the next two years, which I know I can easily do, will that really be enough to get into these schools? I know these are pretty broad questions, and it's not just based on grades and everything to get into a school, but are these grades acceptable for these schools? Thanks :)
Resolved Question: Why are southern state's public universities/colleges cheaper?
Taking a quick look at in-state tuition from different parts of the country (USA). I realized that most public universities in the north average about 10-12K a year when it comes to in-state tuition. while universities in Texas / Georgia / Kentucky / Oklahoma / Alabama/ Missouri/ Mississippi and so on average about 6-7K a year ... Isn't this ironic? since most northern states pay more into taxes than southern states - especially property taxes? I don't get it... Frankly I am jealous at my southern brothers who are enjoying cheaper university tuition fees .. PRIVATE COLLEGES NOT INCLUDED :) for example in michigan In-state tuition will run you 12K a year .... same goes to Ohio / Pennsylvania / NJ / NY / Massachusetts / etc... I just did a comparison ...
Open Question: Junior Scholars Program at Miami University (Ohio)?
I have recently been accepted into the Junior Scholars Program at(well..see above) and I was wondering if anybody has any tips/suggestions on preparation for the program. If there are any previous Junior Scholars out there who could review the program and tell me the pros and cons, that would be great! I am basically going in blind with no previous information, so anything helps. Also, if anyone knows what dorm the university typically houses the scholars, please let me know! Thanks so much, once again, any information helps! (even from current Miami University students who know about the program)
Open Question: which University of these three should i attend?
Hey guys, i've narrowed down my college search to three different state schools. They are The University of Missouri at Columbia, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Ohio State University. I live in missouri, so thats a plus for MU, however, my test scores are stellar (33 on ACT) and my grades are awesome, so i wouldn't have a hard time paying for Nebraska or Ohio. In state is not a big issue. What i want to know is which school is strongest in the Biology department and Anthropology department. Any info helps guys, thanks!
